LIFE LATELY: styling for photoshoots, intentional rest, and transitioning into fall

In the fast-paced, instant gratification digital times we live, I wanted to create a series in this space to catch you up on all things, well…me. Enter “Life Lately.” I recognize some of the topics I discuss on EWT (Epiphany with Tiffany) might seem a bit funny or foreign—energy, wearing what you love, using palo santo (!?!). And while I’m always here to debunk myths or answer questions, I find that so often the best way to showcase these sometimes esoteric topics in real-life scenarios is to model how I’ve seen them show up in my own life because they have—time and time again.

The best way I know how to do that? Keep it real. All the time. So today, I’m catching you up on all things “Life Lately,” a new series dedicated to keeping you up-to-date on all the happenings in the world of Tiffany, in hopes of encouraging you to share your life—the vulnerable parts and the joy—so that we can all move one step closer to connection, authenticity, inspiration and true freedom. Let’s dive in!

What I've been up to lately

I've been in a complete rest-and-reflect state of mind the past few weeks. To be completely transparent, I pushed exceptionally hard the past year to complete my holistic coaching program, get my website + business up and running and all that goes with it, and I'm just now feeling like I can take a couple of deep breaths and look around and see all that I've accomplished this past year.

I often struggle with allowing myself permission to rest and it typically takes a planned vacation or unplanned sickness to push me to release my daily responsibilities and hit the pause button. Case in point: I recently returned from a week spent beaching, relaxing and wine tasting with my family in my hometown on the Central Coast. Upon my return, instead of hitting the ground running as anticipated, I’ve been needing to focus on some health related matters that cropped up instead. So, while I've still been seeing clients since I’ve returned, I've been making an intentional focus to rest in between as much as possible and take as many extra "responsibilities" off my calendar as I can, so I can give my body time and space to do what it needs to recalibrate. Do you struggle with taking breaks and replenishing your body?

What's been lighting me up lately

Wardrobe styling for photoshoots! I've been loving working with fellow entrepreneurs and small business owners by helping them style looks for their brand and product photoshoots. There's a lot of considerations when trying to decide what to wear and it can feel like a lot of pressure to get it right, especially when you have multiple looks to think about! Recently having completed a 6-hour shoot for my own brand and website, I know just how important it is to have outfits that you not only feel good in being photographed, but that also showcase your brand and product and/or service in a way that feels elevated and cohesive. If you have an upcoming personal or brand photoshoot and need help styling some looks, shoot me an email. I would love to help create some special looks that reflect the energy of you and the vibe of your shoot.

What I've been wearing lately

To be completely frank, I've been at home a lot getting plenty of rest and leaning heavily into my rotation of cozy loungewear. But just because you might be feeling under the weather, doesn't mean dressing at home can't be fun! My go-to's for summer home wear include: oversized vintage-inspired tees, ribbed crop tank bras, biker shorts, drawstring pants, and a silk kimono robe thrown on-top, for that added fancy factor.

When I do get dressed to go outside and socialize or meet with clients, I can't seem to get enough of puff sleeves, retro florals, denim cutoffs, tiered dresses, lug sole sandals, Converse high-tops, bucket hats, and all things neon–especially lime green and chartreuse! I love dressing in the summer in a way that really speaks to my inner child. Clothes that feel energizing and playful when you wear them help keep you feeling young and inspired! Don't be afraid to have fun with your outfits! If you’re looking for even more inspiration, find shop all of my favorite summer picks here.

What I'm looking forward to

Fall fashion! I know it's only July, but I'm already eagerly awaiting the change of inventory in the stores. There’s something about clearing out summer inventory and prepping new racks for fall frocks to be displayed that’s just…exciting. To make space for some new pieces and get a sense of what I might need and want to be shopping for during my upcoming favorite season, I'm about to embark on a massive closet cleanse. I like to do these annually and I'll be documenting my process and sharing it on social media and here on my blog, so please follow along and let me know if it inspires you to do your own closet clean-out. And be sure to check out this post for some of my favorite tips.

The best part of spaces like these is that they promote sharing. I want to hear what’s happening in your life lately as well! Drop me a comment below with what’s lighting you up and inspiring you at the moment. And if you’re brave, with what you might be struggling with right now. I’d love to listen and support you.
